Become an Advocate

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Team RWB advocate and volunteering your time to enrich the life of a wounded veteran and his/her family. As an advocate, you will provide the essential ingredient of friendship to make a special impact in the life of a wounded veteran and his/her family.

To join Team RWB as an advocate, please complete the form on the right side of this page to let us know you’re interested. A Team RWB representative will contact you by email within 1-2 business days after receiving your form. In this email, you will find an application to complete and return by email. Once your application has been received, Team RWB will complete your security background check. Following the background check, a Team RWB representative will schedule a time with you to discuss your application, interests, motivations and constraints related to becoming a Team RWB advocate. You will then be matched with a wounded veteran/family (referred by Veterans Affairs) based on shared preferences. Once matched, you must complete a training session that outlines the general operating guidelines of the one-on-one relationship program. You can then meet your wounded veteran/family, agree on relationship needs and activities, participate in approved activities (Team RWB will reimburse for out-of-pocket expenses) and interact with other Team RWB members at local community events and online.

Team Red White and Blue currently has advocate centers in Detroit,Washington DC, Houston, Phoenix and Tampa. Be sure to specify which location you are interested in when completing the form and be sure to keep checking this site for updates on new locations!

As a reminder, advocates are required to commit to 12 months of -partnership and at least one approved activity per month.
