Organization
The Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) organization is comprised of individuals who dedicate their time, energy and expertise to enrich the lives of our wounded veterans and their families.
The Board of Directors
The board of directors provides oversight and directs the activities of Team RWB to ensure excellent management and longevity of the organization. The board is chaired by the founder and meets monthly through virtual teleconferences. Meeting agenda topics are proposed by the chairman of the board in consultation with committee chairs; however, any board member has the right to suggest and/or bring up a topic for discussion at any time.
Team RWB board members are volunteer positions with a term of three years (with an option for additional service). Board members must participate in at least nine meetings per year. In addition, the board is committed to conducting a formal, end-of-year review to update strategic and operating plans. Board members are also expected to take a leadership role in providing expertise and assistance in supporting Team RWB’s day-to-day operations.
Mike Erwin
Executive Director
Mike is responsible for the strategic direction of the Team RWB, which includes administration of the board, program and service development, financial, tax, and fundraising management, and making sure that the organization and its partnerships are managed in accordance with the mission of Team RWB. Mike earned a M.S. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, is a major in the U.S. Army and teaches psychology and leadership at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he lives with his wife and children. James McBride
Finance Director
James is responsible for all of the organization’s financial management: budgeting, cash flow, investments, and accounting. A former Army aviation officer with combat tours to both Iraq and Afghanistan, he is currently an associate sales consultant with Synthes Spine, a leading developer of implants and instruments for the treatment of fractures, tumors, deformities, and degenerative diseases of the spine. Larry Olson
Marketing Director
Larry is responsible for the strategic oversight of all marketing and promotional activity for the organization, including promotion, media relations, brand management, website development, and outreach support. He is the vice president and director of marketing at John Wiley & Sons, a global publishing company based in Hoboken, New Jersey, and he lives with his wife and children in Briarcliff Manor, New York. Jennifer Ziegler
Communication Director and Secretary
Jennifer serves as the point of contact for athletes, introducing them to Team RWB, directing them to local chapters, acting as the communication point, and maintaining athlete connections. She also serves as secretary of the board of directors. She is an oncology pharmacist at Wake Forest Baptist Health and lives in North Carolina. Contact Jennifer at jennifer@teamrwb.org
Jonathan Algor
Director of Development; Chairman, Development committee
Born and raised in East Islip, NY, Jonathan Algor completed his undergraduate studies at the United States Military Academy at West Point and was the captain of the Varsity Soccer team. In June 2002, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and began serving as a Field Artillery Officer in Bamberg, Germany. In February, 2004, Jonathan deployed with the 1st Infantry Division to Bayji, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Jonathan redeployed in March 2007 as an operations advisor to the Iraqi National Police in Samarra, Iraq, serving alongside his younger brother, Justin, an Infantry platoon leader in the 82nd Airborne.
After 6 years of active duty service, Jonathan started pursuing a JD/MBA at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in September 2008. Additionally, Jonathan is a member of the United States Army Reserves, serving as an assistant professor of military studies in the University of Michigan Army ROTC program. Jonathan lives with his wife Monica and two year-old son Jack in Ann Arbor, MI.
William B. Reynolds III, CPT(R)
Chapter Director
Will is the Chapter Captain for the Washington, D.C., metro area, as well as the director of the organization’s chapter captains. A former army infantry officer with the 10th Mountain Division, he was wounded in Baghdad in 2004. Upon medical retirement from the military and after graduate school, Will started a career as a senior consultant with Deloitte Consulting, LLP. He is based in Washington, D.C., where he lives with his wife and children. Contact Will at william@teamrwb.org
Mark Erwin
Community Outreach Director
Mark’s role is to encourage private organizations, veteran organizations, sport teams, and other critical members of the community to join the Team RWB family. Mark additionally serves as the Team RWB Upstate New York chapter captain. A former army officer with over six years of service, including sixteen months of combat, Mark is now enrolled in a master’s degree program at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
